I studied reclamation science because I wanted to leave the world better than I found it. But it was through yoga that I realized the first step to changing the world is changing the self.

I believe that yoga makes the world a better place by creating community while supporting mental and physical wellbeing on the individual level.

Join me on the mat.

Elizabeth's story

Elizabeth took her first yoga class ten years ago as cross-training for dance. She practiced ballet from an early age and was on dance team in college. However, though dance was her first love, yoga gradually shifted its way into the forefront of her life during her college years as she discovered and explored Ashtanga yoga.

Shortly after graduating college, Elizabeth completed her 200-hour teacher training at Southtown Yoga Loft in San Antonio and began teaching at MBS Yoga, where she discovered the joy of sharing her practice and passion with other students. She draws inspiration for her vivid verbal cues from her own Ashtanga practice, which she considers to be a physical and mental experience of illuminating the dark places in the body, mind, and practice. That said, she enjoys exploring all styles of yoga; vinyasa and mindfulness will always have a place in her practice as well. She has taught at MBS Yoga and Southtown Yoga Loft in San Antonio, Texas, and more recently, at Yoga for the Peaceful in Crested Butte, Colorado. She teaches both group and private yoga.

When she isn't on the mat, Elizabeth enjoys being outdoors, especially Nordic skiing, downhill skiing, hiking, and backpacking. In addition to her study and teaching of yoga, she is pursuing a graduate degree in environmental management.
